The proliferation of information technology (IT) as an integral component in virtually all aspects of health care has generated a vast new world of opportunities for the provider community. But along with opportunity comes a level of complexity that requires dedicated expertise, long-term planning, and careful budgeting if providers hope to reap the benefits that IT promises. To gauge the profession’s approach and level of progress on the IT front, multifacility members of the American Health Care Association (AHCA) recently participated in a survey, conducted for AHCA by Atlanta-based  aestro Strategies.
